Abstract

This article aims to analyze the main determinants of the promotion of renewable energies (RE) in Cameroon. To achieve this objective, we conducted an econometric study based on the VAR (Vector Autoregressive) model over the period 2002-2014. The empirical results show that the electric park, the level of CO2 emissions due to the electricity sector, and the quality of institutions have a significant effect on the promotion of renewable energies in Cameroon. On the other hand, the level of per capita income has no significant effect.
