In digital age, markets and the professional sector are constantly changing. Within this new economic space, companies are required to adapt in order to respond to new requirements in terms of performance, competitivity and success. These challenges have an impact on the nature of employment, the conditions and the qualifications necessary to achieve them.
For the past twenty years, recruitment practices have based more on digital tools and, over the past ten years on social networks. (Cousserand-Blin, Pinède, 2018, P 9). This reform has transformed the way in which companies research, evaluate and select candidates. The ethical dilemma related to recruitment and digital identity on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn remains complex and generates deep ethical concerns.
Through this theoretical research, which is based on pertinence analysis (Raîche & Noel-Gauderault, 2008, p 486), we aim to shed light on the new digital recruitment practices by attempting to define and understand the relationship between digital identity, digital traces and the choice of candidates from an ethical managerial perspective.
