Abstract

Gender equality and the empowerment of women have always been objectives sought by the public authorities in Cameroon. However, despite the stated desire to make it a fundamental value, inequalities persist between men and women, girls and boys in all sectors of activity. This article, which proposes to study the effectiveness of the integration of gender issues in the management of public finances in Cameroon, starts from a simple question, namely: Does the new management of public finances in Cameroon integrate it actually address gender issues? The answer to this question is clarified by the main recourse to the legal method, and on a subsidiary basis to the sociological method. By hypothesis, we postulate a relative ineffectiveness of the consideration of gender issues in Cameroonian public finances.
