Several reforms and changes in the Moroccan institutional and legal framework have been undertaken over the last two decades to comply with the challenges of sustainable development and to encourage the wide dissemination of social responsibility approaches at the level of Moroccan companies (CSR).
In this context of awareness of the challenges of sustainable development, the objective of this article is to draw up an inventory of the CSR commitment in Morocco through the study of the different provisions and dynamics implemented by the Triptych State, financial sector and economic fabric.
Our study, based on documentary research focused on the most cited articles, recently defended doctoral theses and publications on the net of certain official organizations or companies, revealed that at the state level, several changes in the institutional and legal framework carried out for more than 20 years are in principle able to achieve a guaranteed transition towards a sustainable economy, but the challenge remains the implementation of laws and regulations. At the level of the economic fabric, we have on the one hand, companies highly aware of the interest of the appropriation of CSR and on the other hand, companies which for socio-cultural reasons or for human or financial constraints do not yet see a return on investment from the implementation of a CSR approach. At the financial level, measures have been introduced for greater transparency and confidence, but the weight of the Casablanca stock exchange does not yet plead in favor of the attraction of ethical funds and the scope of intervention and influence of banks in terms of CSR on their entire value chain remains limited.
