Abstract
Nowadays, the dwindling of the water resources has pronounced and constitutes a potentially major threat to the environment and its components. The study aims at analyzing changes induced by climate variability and land use on the hydrological cycle for the optimal management of water resources in the watershed of the River Zou (BVRZ). The Study methods adopted have used descriptive statistics, diagnostics for characterizing variability and hydroclimatic that related to the use of SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool). The results show that the catchment area of the River Zou is subject to fluctuation of climatic parameters that influences the flow across the basin, with a greater effect in the sub-basin Atchérigbé. About the Similarly for 2030, climate variability and degradation of vegetation cover lead to reduced surface water resources of approximately 33.87 % and the groundwater resources of approximately 31.07 %. The water production basin in turn will drop by about 38.25 %. The water resources of the watershed of the River Zou should therefore be subject to a rational, pledge a contribution to the integrated and sustainable management of water resources in the watershed of the River Zou (BVRZ).
