Abstract

A This study aims to determine the factors motivating their choice to opt for one or another improved variety of cassava and to list the variety or varieties the most to adopt, Following a survey which was carried out in this region among 250 farmers in the outskirts of the city of Kananga, analyzes have shown that the most adopted cutting is DISANKA (43.2%), the choice made for this variety is based on high yield, its ability to resist disease and climate, its taste as well as than the size of its cuttings. The choice of improved cassava cuttings is positively influenced by the farmer's age, the farmer's main economic activity and membership of an associative movement. On the other hand, the level of education, the size of the household and the size of the plantation have a negative influence on the choice of improved cuttings.
