Abstract:

Groundwater is an essential resource to meet the water needs of populations. Catchment structures (boreholes, wells, etc.) are used for its operation. In Ratoma, this resource is requested by the population to make up for the increasingly growing deficit in drinking water. This intense exploitation is explained by a low water supply (29,737.8m3 / d) compared to demand (38,514.2m3 / d). To make up for this deficit, the population makes massive use of groundwater through boreholes. The massive creation of water wells without advice from the authorities is a threat to the sustainability of the resource. In this case, the proliferation of boreholes can have an impact or even an impact on groundwater. Analysis of this situation has shown us that the state of the groundwater in Ratoma is threatened. So to measure the impact of these boreholes, we used an analytical approach by comparison of quantitative parameters, a quantitative hydrogeology approach, for the groundwater exploitation periods of 1985 and 2020. A sample of 1167 boreholes was determined for this study. The analysis of groundwater pumping practices by the population of Ratoma was not addressed in this study.
